Zambia’s health minister has tested positive for coronavirus, it was announced Wednesday, days after Information Minister Dora Siliya contracted the virus.

Cabinet secretary Dr. Simon Miti in a news conference, which was broadcast live on the Ministry of Health’s official Facebook page, said Chitalu Chilufya is currently in self-isolation.

Zambia recorded 208 new COVID-19 cases out of 903 tests conducted in the last 24 hours, the ministry said in a statement.

In total, it added, the African nation has registered 1,057 infections along with seven virus-linked deaths and 779 recoveries.

Zambia is a landlocked country of rugged terrain and diverse wildlife, with many parks and safari areas.
