UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will be in Turkey on Thursday, his spokesman said Tuesday.
In his Istanbul visit, the UN chief will meet with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and attend a high-level advisory board meeting on mediation and address a mediation conference, said Farhan Haq in his briefing at UN headquarters in New York.
The 6th Istanbul Mediation Conference is set to take place Thursday with the theme “International Peace Mediation: Taking Stock and Looking Ahead.”
Guterres will also visit the UN technology bank in Gebze of northwestern Kocaeli province, 70 kilometers east of Istanbul.
