Turkiye’s benchmark stock index closed the day at 2,042.08 points on Wednesday, up 3.14% from the previous close.
Starting the day at 1,978.62 points, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index earned 62.24 points from Tuesday’s close of 1,979.83 points.
The index’s lowest value during the day was 1,959.40 points, while its daily high was 2,043.99.
The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 1.64 trillion Turkish liras ($121.16 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 44.69 billion liras ($3.3 billion).
During the third transaction day of the week, 96 stocks on the index rose, three fell and one was the same compared to Tuesday’s close.
The highest trading volumes were posted by flag carrier Turkish Airlines, iron/steel producer Kardemir, and private lender Garanti BBVA.
Real estate investment trust Is GYO was the best performer, with its shares up 9.87%, while stocks of electrolytic copper producer Sarkuysan saw the sharpest drop, 0.37%.
The price of one ounce of gold was $1,810 by market close, down from $1,813.60 at the previous close.
Brent crude oil was sold for $88.30 per barrel as of 6.30 p.m. local time (1530GMT).
