ANKARA
Turkey’s benchmark stock index started the day at 115,740.98 points on Tuesday, up 0.48%, or 550.93 points.
At Monday’s close, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index was up 1.39% at 115,190.05 points, with a daily trading volume of 23.5 billion Turkish liras ($3.4 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate increased to 6.8510 as of 9:30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) Tuesday, compared to 6.8430 at Monday’s close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also rose to 7.7190 from 7.6960, and one British pound traded for 8.5530 Turkish liras, up from 8.5330 at the previous close.
One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $42.84 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
