ANKARA
Turkey’s benchmark stock index fell 1.17%, or 1,430.05 points, to start the week at 120,711.70 points on Monday.
On Friday’s close, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index went up 0.33% to 122,141.75 points with a daily trading volume of 11.96 billion Turkish liras (nearly $2.01 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 5.9470 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Monday, up from 5.9340 at last week’s close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate slipped 6.5580, versus 6.5790, and one British pound traded for 7.7880 Turkish liras, while it was 7.7990 at the previous close.
