Turkey’s benchmark stock index rose 0.55%, or 666.45 points, to start the day at 120,816.15 points on Tuesday.

On Monday’s close, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index went down 1.63% to 120,149.70 points with a daily trading volume of 11.4 billion Turkish liras (nearly $1.9 billion).

The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 5.9450 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Tuesday, down from 5.9510 at Monday’s close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate slipped 6.5540, versus 6.5630, and one British pound traded for 7.7750 Turkish liras, while it was 7.7830 at the previous close.
