Turkey’s benchmark stock index was up 0.25%, or 278.49 points, to start Thursday at 110,835.16 points.

On Wednesday’s close, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index fell 0.45% to 110,574.68 points with a daily trading volume of 8.6 billion Turkish liras ($1.5 billion).

The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 5.9250 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Thursday, compared to 5.9130 at Wednesday’s close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also increased to 6.5990, versus 6.5770, and one British pound traded for 7.7720 Turkish liras, while it was 7.7550 at the previous close.
