Turkey’s benchmark stock index rose 2.09%, or 2,360 points, to start Thursday at 115,236.49 points.
At Wednesday’s close, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index rose 0.25% to 112,876.05 points with a daily trading volume of 12 billion Turkish liras ($2 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 5.9240 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Thursday, down from 5.9490 at Wednesday’s close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate was 6.5900, versus 6.6170, and one British pound traded for 7.7890 Turkish liras, while it was 7.8320 at the previous close.
