Turkey’s benchmark stock index ended the week at 1,382.15 points, down 0.88% from the previous close.

After starting Friday at 1,409.20, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index lost 12.21 points from Thursday’s close of 1,394.36 points.

During Friday’s trading, the BIST 100 hovered between 1,359.15 points and 1,412.35 points, with 25 stocks on the index rising, 71 down, and four flat from the previous close.

Closing the week with a market value of around 1.1 trillion Turkish liras ($133.6 billion), the benchmark index posted a daily trading volume of 22.5 billion liras ($2.8 billion).

The highest trading volumes were posted by private lender Garanti BBVA, appliance maker Vestel, and glass maker Sise Cam.

Stocks of prominent hospital group MLP Saglik climbed the most, up 4%, while shares of Logo, a major software producer, dropped the most, 5.93%.

The price of one ounce of gold was $1,729.35 by market close, up from $1,727.00 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul’s Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

The price of Brent crude oil was around $64.33 per barrel as of 6.20 p.m. local time (1520GMT) on Friday.

Meanwhile, Borsa Istanbul on Friday chose Korkmaz Enes Ergun to be its new chairman.
