Turkish security forces seized ammunition and explosives belonging to the PKK terror group in northern Iraq, Turkey’s Defense Ministry said on Tuesday.
The Turkish soldiers seized lots of weapon, ammunition, anti-tank and anti-personnel mines, improvised explosive devices, as well as various documents and life-sustaining materials during the intense search and sweep activities in Haftanin region as part of the Operation Claw-Tiger, the ministry said in a written statement.
“The Operation Claw-Tiger, launched on June 16, continues successfully as planned,” it added.
The ministry also shared on Twitter a footage of terrorist ammunition found by the security forces.
Turkey’s operations Claw-Tiger and Claw-Eagle were recently launched to ensure the safety of the Turkish people and borders by neutralizing the threat of the PKK and other terrorist groups in the region.
In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK — listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the US and EU — has been responsible for the deaths of nearly 40,000 people, including women, children, and infants.
