The Turkic Council congratulated Anadolu Agency on Monday as Turkey’s flagship news agency marks its centennial.

In a statement, the council’s Secretary General Baghdad Amreyev said Anadolu Agency has served as a reliable news source for a century.

“I firmly believe that while we work towards our common future, Anadolu Agency will be instrumental in providing and allocating information with its strong news network established in the Turkic Council member countries,” Amreyev said.

Anadolu Agency was established on April 6, 1920, by Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder of the Turkish Republic. Monday marks the centennial of Turkey’s global news
