ANKARA
Turkey’s benchmark stock index increased 0.73%, or 836.84 points, on Tuesday to start the day at 115,626.05 points.
At Monday’s close, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index was down 1.75% at 114,789.21 points, with a daily trading volume of 12.5 billion Turkish liras ($2 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate dropped to 6.0780 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Tuesday, versus 6.1590 at the previous close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate slipped to 6.5990, compared to 6.6650, and one British pound traded for 7.8830 Turkish liras. It was 7.9720 at Monday’s close.
