Turkey's Borsa Istanbul up at Thursday's close

Turkey’s benchmark stock index closed at 1,431.78 points on Thursday, up 1.27% from the previous close.

Starting the day at 1,409.05 points, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index gained 17.98 points from Wednesday’s close of 1,413.80 points.

The index’s lowest value during the day was 1,407.56 points, while its daily high was 1,431.78 points.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was almost 1.07 trillion Turkish liras ($128 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of more than 16.8 billion Turkish liras ($2 billion).

The price of one ounce of gold was $1,813.50 by market close, versus $1,813.15 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul’s Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

The price of Brent crude oil was around $74.69 per barrel as of 6:30 p.m. local time (1530GMT).
