Turkey’s benchmark stock index rose 0.38% or 366.87 points on Friday to start the day at 96,201.31 points.
At Thursday’s close, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index was up 2.80% at 95,834.44 points, with a daily trading volume of 15.1 billion Turkish liras ($2.2 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate climbed to 6.6650 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Friday, versus 6.6820 at the previous close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also rose to 7.2830, compared to 7.3150, and one British pound traded for 8.3220 Turkish liras, versus 8.3490 at Thursday’s close.
