Turkey’s benchmark stock index rose 0.67%, or 694.31 points, to start the last trading day of the week at 104,474.89 points.
On Thursday’s close, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index dropped 1% to stand at 103,780.58 points with a daily trading volume of 10 billion Turkish liras (some $1.75 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 5.7620 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Friday, compared to 5.7540 at Thursday’s close.
