Turkey’s benchmark stock index climbed by 1.13%, or 1,050.14 points on Thursday to start the day at 94,275.35 points.
At the midweek’s close, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index was down 0.91% at 93,225.22 points, with a daily trading volume of 10.05 billion Turkish liras ($1.48 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate dropped to 6.7710 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Thursday, versus 6.7800 at the previous close.
The Euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also decreased to 7.3620, compared to 7.3940, and one British pound traded for 8.4030 Turkish liras. It was 8.4210 at Wednesday’s close.
