Turkey’s benchmark stock index was up 0.81%, or 895.99 points, to start Friday at 111,010.65 points.

On Thursday’s close, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index was up 2.03% to 110,114.66 points with a daily trading volume of 10.7 billion Turkish liras (some $1.8 billion).

The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 5.7830 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Friday, compared to 5.7780 at Thursday’s close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 6.4610, versus 6.4450, and one British pound traded for 7.8080 Turkish liras, while it was 7.6210 at the previous close.
