Turkey’s benchmark stock index started Tuesday at 116,426.13 points, up 0.50%, or 583.12 points.
At Monday’s close, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index was up 1.02% at 115,843.01 points with a daily trading volume of 18.1 billion Turkish liras ($2.65 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 6.8560 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) Tuesday, compared to 6.8540 at the previous close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate fell to 7.6870 from 7.7120 and one British pound traded for 8.4370 Turkish liras, down from 8.4540 at the Monday’s close.
One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $41.60 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT) on Tuesday.
