Turkey’s benchmark stock index started Thursday at 96,705.97 points with a daily increase of 0.89%, or 851.05 points.
On Wednesday, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index dropped 2.73% to close the day at 95,854.92 points with a daily trading volume of 17.17 billion Turkish liras ($2.5 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 6.9130 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Thursday, compared to 6.8940 at Wednesday’s close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also went up to 7.5270, versus 7.4990, and one British pound traded for 8.6550 Turkish liras, while it was 8.6230 at the previous close.
