ANKARA
Turkey’s benchmark stock index started Thursday at 106,802.94 points with a daily rise of 0.02%, or 17.86 points.
On Wednesday, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index slipped by 0.69% to close the day at 106,785.08 points with a daily trading volume of 9.9 billion Turkish liras (some $1.74 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 5.7070 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Thursday, compared to 5.7040 at Wednesday’s close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 6.3280, versus 6.3120, and one British pound traded for 7.3960 Turkish liras, versus 7.3880 at the previous close.
