ANKARA
Turkey’s benchmark stock index started Thursday at 98.579,92 points, up 0.01%, or 8.47 points.
On Wednesday, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index diminished 0.17% to close the day at 98,571.46 points with a daily trading volume of 11.3 billion Turkish liras ($1.59 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 7.2320 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Thursday, compared to 7.1790 at Wednesday’s close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate increased to 7.8060, versus 7.7580, and one British pound traded for 8.9620 Turkish liras, versus 8.9010 at the previous close.
One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $29.38 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
