Turkey’s benchmark stock index decreased by 0.04%, or 47.32 points, to start Wednesday at 105,935.82 points.
On Tuesday’s close, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index surged 0.57% to 105,983.14 points with a daily trading volume of 10 billion Turkish liras (some $1.75 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 5.7660 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Wednesday, compared to 5.7440 at Tuesday’s close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 6.3480, versus 6.3330, and one British pound traded for 7.4250 Turkish liras, while it was 7.4020 at the previous close.
