ANKARA
Turkey’s benchmark stock index slipped 1.58%, or 1,844.99 points, on Monday to start the week at 114,984.4 points.
At the last week’s close, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index was up by 1.03% at 116,829.39 points, with a daily trading volume of 14.7 billion Turkish liras ($2.4 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 6.1360 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Monday, versus 6.1190 at the previous close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also increased to 6.6400, compared to 6.6110, and one British pound traded for 7.9550 Turkish liras. It was 7.9350 at Friday’s close.
