Turkey's Borsa Istanbul down at open

ANKARA 

Turkey's benchmark stock index was down 1.04% or 1,007.82 points on Monday to start the week at 95,463.15 points.

At Friday's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 0.66% at 96,470.97 points, with a daily trading volume of 11.4 billion Turkish liras ($1.7 billion).

The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate climbed to 6.7590 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Monday, versus 6.6830 at the previous close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also rose to 7.4010, compared to 7.3180, and one British pound traded for 8.4710 Turkish liras, versus 8.3560 at Friday's close.
