Turkey's Borsa Istanbul down at Friday's open

Turkey's benchmark stock index slipped 0.14%, or 161.36 points, on Friday to start the last transaction day of the week at 111,653.72 points.

At Thursday's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 0.93% at 111,815.08 points with a daily trading volume of 8.6 billion Turkish liras ($1.4 billion).

The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 6.1040 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Friday, versus 6.0920 at the previous close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 6.8540, versus 6.8170, and one British pound traded for 7.8880 Turkish liras. It was 7.8920 at Thursday's close.
