Turkey's Borsa Istanbul down at close

ISTANBUL 

Turkey's benchmark stock index closed the day at 105,993.65 points on Friday, down 4.01% from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index started the day at 99,331.99 points with a strong decline of 10%. As of the daily close, it had lost 4,424.72 points from Thursday's close of 110,418.37 points.

The price of one ounce of gold was $1,627 by market close, down from $1,650 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

The price of Brent crude oil was around $49.85 per barrel as of 6 p.m. (1500GMT) on Friday.
