Turkish security forces have seized large amounts of ammunition and drugs belonging to the PKK terror group, authorities said on Sunday.
An anti-terror operation was launched in the eastern Van province to eliminate the presence of PKK/KCK terror group, the Van Governorate said in a statement.
As a result, it added, 10 kilograms (22 pounds) of heroin, two AK-47 Kalashnikov rifles, three grenades, four AK-47 Kalashnikov rifle clips, some AK-47 Kalashnikov rifle cartridges and three M16 rifle clips were seized.
Turkey’s operations against terrorists within the country, with the public support, continue determinedly and successfully, the statement added.
In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK – listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the US and EU — has been responsible for the deaths of some 40,000 people, including women, children and infants.
