BELGRADE, Serbia

The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA renovated the office of the Serbian Wheelchair Basketball Federation (SKKS) and provided wheelchair assistance to athletes.

Ankara’s Ambassador to Belgrade Hami Aksoy, who attended the opening ceremony of the office, pointed out that political relations between Serbia and Turkey are excellent.

“We also want to improve our relations in the field of culture and sports. We are experiencing the best example of this today,” said Aksoy.

Aksoy said that Serbia is a successful country in sports and Turkey will continue to work to improve relations in sports.

SKKS President Vladimir Kuzmanovic said his country will participate in European Championship matches as a team.

“We thank TİKA for its assistance. It is extremely meaningful for us. The donated wheelchairs are very easy to use. We are excited to compete with the new wheelchairs in tomorrow’s championship,” said Kuzmanovic.

As part of the July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day events, a friendly match will be played between Turkish and Serbian women’s basketball teams.
