BURSA, Turkey

Turkey has been receiving orders of hygiene products from all around the world during the pandemic, a business leader of the country’s chemistry sector said.

The country had a chance to introduce its hygiene products to the world in this period, Ilker Duran, the head of the Chemistry Sector Council in the northwestern province of Bursa’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry, told Anadolu Agency.

Turkey is among the top five countries globally in the manufacturing and export of liquid hand soap, he noted.

“We even export products to the US, and receive orders from all over the world [as] foreigners want to see ‘Made in Turkey’ label,” he underlined.

He stressed the demand for liquid soap rose during the COVID-19 outbreak, which appeared the last December in China.

There is a strong demand for Turkish hygiene products from Europe, Central Asia, the Arabian peninsula and the Balkans, he added.

Even after the pandemic, Turkish hygiene products will continue to be preferred around the world, according to Duran.

The pandemic has killed nearly 302,500 people worldwide with over 4.44 million confirmed cases, while recoveries have surpassed 1.58 million.
