Municipalities under main opposition party in Turkey provided “a great amount of aid” to regions affected by Friday’s deadly earthquake in eastern Elazig province, the main opposition party head said on Tuesday.

“Including service vehicles, ambulances, rescue crews, blankets, electric heaters, dry food and hot meal, our municipalities provided aid that can meet all needs of our citizens,” Kemal Kilicdaroglu, head of Republican People’s Party (CHP), told his party’s parliamentary group.

“Hereby, I sincerely thank all our mayors,” Kilicdaroglu said, and added that people living in this territory become one in though times.
