Turkey on Thursday extended condolences to Peru after heavy rains triggered deadly flooding and landslides. 

“We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of lives and extensive damage caused by flood and landslides in Peru,” said the Foreign Ministry in an official statement.

The ministry went on to extend condolences to the relatives of victims and to wish a speedy recovery to the injured.

This week heavy rainfall in Peru triggered flooding in various states across the country, costing a total of 28 lives, according to local reports.
