ANKARA
Turkey on Friday condemned a deadly terror attack on a military base in Mali.
“We are saddened to receive the news that many soldiers lost their lives and injured in a terrorist attack on a military station in Boni, in the Mopti region of Mali,” the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
At least 10 soldiers were killed in the early Wednesday attack that was reportedly claimed by a group affiliated with the al-Qaeda terror organization.
“We condemn this attack. We extend our sincere condolences to the friendly and brotherly people and Government of Mali as well as to the families and relatives of those who lost their lives and wish a speedy recovery to the injured,” the ministry said.
