ANKARA 

The Central Bank of Turkey (CBRT) announced it started distributing 40.5 billion Turkish liras (some $6.8 billion) to shareholders.

Convening an extraordinary general assembly on Monday, the CBRT decided to pay advance dividends from its profit of the 2019 financial year and distribute reserve funds from its profit in 2018.

The bank is distributing to shareholders 35.2 billion Turkish liras ($5.95 billion) as advance dividends, and 5.3 billion Turkish liras ($900 million) as reserve funds, it said in a statement.
