ANKARA
Four PKK terrorists surrendered to Turkish security forces in the country’s southeastern Sirnak province, the National Defense Ministry said on Wednesday.
The terrorists, who fled from the areas the PKK terror group takes shelter in northern Iraq, laid down arms in the Silopi district of Sirnak, it added.
“As a result of our decisive operations, PKK terrorists continue to surrender,” the ministry also said.
In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK — listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the US and EU — has been responsible for the deaths of 40,000 people, including women, children, and infants.
