English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur announced Monday that Steven Bergwijn was diagnosed with a sprain to his left ankle.
“The Netherlands international will now undergo an extended period of rehabilitation where his progress will continue to be assessed,” Tottenham said on its website.
Bergwijn, 22, was injured in Saturday’s Premier League game against Burnley at Turf Moor.
The Dutch forward has scored two goals in seven appearances for Tottenham so far.
