US President Joe Biden’s National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan hosted his Israeli counterpart at the White House and discussed a range of global issues, including Iran and Ukraine, according to a statement Thursday.
The meeting between Sullivan and Eyal Hulata took place Wednesday, said the statement by Sullivan’s spokeswoman Emily Horne.
“They underscored their shared determination to address security challenges impacting the Middle East, including the threats posed by Iran and its proxies,” said the statement. “Mr. Sullivan reiterated President Biden’s unwavering support to Israel’s security and to ensuring Iran never obtains a nuclear weapon.”
The two officials also discussed potential aggression by Russia toward Ukraine, as well as US-Israeli cooperation on science and innovation.
“Mr. Sullivan and Dr. Hulata agreed to maintain the close coordination between their interagency teams on a range of global and regional security challenges,” it added.
