ANKARA
Less than a month after being picked as Thailand’s finance minister, Predee Daochai stepped down from the post Tuesday.
Daochi cited health reasons for stepping down, the daily Bangkok Post reported.
He submitted his resignation late Monday to Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, who has yet to approve it.
Predee, former head of the Kasikornbank party, was picked to lead the Finance Ministry on Aug. 6 under the premier’s quota.
The report said there was disagreement inside the cabinet over the allotment of portfolios.
Prayut, a former army strongman, has led a 16-party coalition since July 2019 with a narrow majority in parliament.
