The Philadelphia 76ers beat the Brooklyn Nets 110-102 in a Thursday NBA game, in which Brooklyn forward Kevin Durant returned from the league’s health and safety protocols.

Philadelphia star Joel Embiid scored 34 points to be the game’s highest scorer at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

The Sixers point guard Tyrese Maxey clocked up 25 points and another Philadelphia guard Seth Curry added 17 points.

Meanwhile Nets pair James Harden and Durant racked up 33 points each.

Brooklyn shooting guard Harden, 32, played a monster game with 33 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists.

However they were unable to avoid the defeat.

With 3:03 remaining to the buzzer in the fourth quarter, the game was tight 100-99 as Brooklyn narrowed the gap to one after Durant’s fadeaway jumper.

But Philadelphia secured the away victory after Maxey and Curry’s three pointers each. The visitors took a 106-99 lead with 1:52 to go.

In the remaining time, the 76ers had the full control of the game to get a 110-102 win over the Nets.

Despite the loss, Brooklyn are still leading the Eastern Conference standings. They won 23 games but lost 10 others this season.

Meanwhile, Philadelphia come sixth in the East standings, having 19-16 win/loss record.

Nuggets vs. Warriors game postponed

A Thursday NBA game between the Denver Nuggets and Golden State Warriors at Ball Arena in Denver was postponed for health reasons.

“Tonight’s game against the Warriors has been postponed due to health and safety protocols,” the Nuggets said on Twitter.

Meanwhile Nuggets’ head coach Michael Malone entered the COVID-19 protocols on Thursday, the NBA said.
