BELGRADE, Serbia

Serbia on Friday reported zero deaths from the coronavirus over the past 24 hours, the first time since March 23.

According to the Health Ministry, at least 105 people tested positive for the virus in a day, bringing the tally to 10,919.

The death toll in Serbia stood at 237.

Earlier this month, Serbia lifted the state of emergency and allowed kindergartens, restaurants, coffee shops and shopping malls to reopen.

After originating in China last December, COVID-19 has spread to at least 187 countries and regions. Europe and the US are currently the worst-hit regions.

The pandemic has killed nearly 333,500 worldwide, with total infections more than 5.12 million, while recoveries exceeded 1.96 million, according to figures compiled by the US’ Johns Hopkins University.
