A Russian Premier League match between FC Orenburg and Ural Ekaterinburg has been called off over several cases of coronavirus.
“At the moment, 10 representatives of FC Orenburg have tested positive for the disease. They are [being] monitored dynamically,” the league said on its website on Wednesday.
The team are in quarantine and continue to follow all the requirements of Russian authorities, it added.
It added that both sides’ participation in remaining matches will depend on future test results.
As of Wednesday, the death toll from the virus has reached 9,521 in Russia with 653,479 cases, according to figures compiled by the US’ Johns Hopkins University.
