MOSCOW

The Russian Defense Ministry said it sent a plane with medical aid to the U.S. on Wednesday.

“A Russian Air Force plane with medical masks and medical equipment on board departed for the United States,” the ministry said in a statement.

The move came after a phone talk between the leaders of the two countries on Monday, when Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump expressed serious concern over the scale of the spread of the coronavirus across the world.
