JAKARTA, Indonesia
A powerful 7.3-magnitude earthquake jolted Indonesia’s Maluku province on Wednesday, the country’s meteorological agency said.
The epicenter of the quake was around 180 kilometers (111 miles) northwest off the region of Maluku Tenggara Barat, at a depth of 133 kilometers (82 miles), according to Indonesia’s meteorological and geophysics agency BMKG.
The agency has not issued tsunami alert after the quake.
There were no immediate reports of casualties.
In September, 36 people were killed in 6.8-magnitude quake in Ambon, the capital city of Maluku province.
