ANKARA
The Philippines was struck by a 6.8-magnitude earthquake on Sunday, according to the United States Geological Survey.
The quake occurred 28.2 kilometers (17.5 miles) below the surface, and its epicenter was the Davao del Sur region of the country.
No tsunami alert was given following the earthquake.
Philippine officials are yet to make a statement on the casualties.
Two quakes with a magnitude over 6 struck the Mindanao Island of the country in late October, killing 23 people and wounding 417 others.
