ANKARA 

Football club Medipol Basaksehir on Monday topped the Turkish Super Lig in a 2-1 away win over Caykur Rizespor.

Basaksehir’s Bosnian midfielder Edin Visca converted a first-half penalty successfully to break the deadlock in the Black Sea province of Rize.

But in the 60th minute, Caykur Rizespor’s Nigerian forward Aminu Umar scored the equalizer.

The visitors’ Slovakian defender Martin Skrtel netted the winning goal near the end of the match to secure victory for his club.

This season the Super Lig saw a relentless race for the title as four teams are now struggling to win it.
