Leicester City on Wednesday signed Red Bull Salzburg’s forward Patson Daka, the English Premier League club said.
“Leicester City Football Club can confirm that exciting young striker Patson Daka will join the Club on a five-year-deal from 1 July, subject to Premier League and international clearance,” the club statement read.
The Zambian national, in an interview to Leicester City TV, said he is “excited to join this great, historic club” and cannot wait to play for the Foxes.
“It has been my dream, I’m so happy and looking forward to what’s coming next,” the 22-year-old said. “I will give my best and look forward to seeing the Leicester City fans in the stadium soon.”
Daka scored 34 goals and produced 12 assists in 42 appearances for Austria’s RB Salzburg.
He played for RB Salzburg from 2017-2021 to score 68 goals and made 27 assists in 125 matches in total.
Daka was a four-time Austrian champion with RB Salzburg from 2018-2021. In this term, he also won three Austrian Cups.
