BEIRUT

Lebanon announced the first coronavirus case in the country on Friday .

A 45-year-old woman arriving in Lebanon via plane from Iran’s province of Qom, where coronavirus cases were recently confirmed, Health Minister Hamad Hassan told reporters in Beirut.

Hassan said there were two other suspected cases in the country, explaining that the ministry was in communication with all passengers on the Iranian plane that carried the infected woman.

He added that officials have been following all arrivals to Lebanon for the past 10 days.
