Israel’s military said early on Thursday that it struck targets in southern Lebanon, warning that raids will continue to thwart “terrorist attempts.”

“Israeli warplanes launched raids tonight (Wednesday) on rocket bases in Lebanon, in addition to infrastructure used for terrorist purposes,” Avichay Adraee, spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), said on Twitter.

“The raids will continue and may escalate against terrorist attempts,” he said, adding that Lebanon “bears responsibility for what is happening inside its territory.”

Earlier on Wednesday, the IDF posted footage of what it said were three rockets “just fired from Lebanon toward northern Israel.”

“2 rockets landed in Israel, and 1 fell inside Lebanon. In response, our artillery forces fired into Lebanon,” the IDF said on Twitter, confirming that Israel was “striking targets along the Lebanese border.”

Lebanese newspaper An-Nahar reported that Israeli warplanes targeted a forested area just outside the town of Aaichiyeh in southern Lebanon.
