Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) beat rivals Olympique Marseille 2-0 to win Le Classique in a Sunday French Ligue 1 match.
The visitors opened in the 9th minute as PSG’s French star Kylian Mbappe scored on a quick counter attack at the Marseille’s Orange Velodrome Stadium.
The lead was 2-0 when Argentine forward Mauro Icardi scored with a header in the 24th minute.
Olympique Marseille were down to 10 men toward the end as French winger Dimitri Payet made a harsh tackle on Italian midfielder of PSG, Marco Verratti.
Third-placed PSG have 51 points in 24 weeks, three points behind the leaders Lille. Olympique Marseille are ranked 9th with 33 points.
