Juventus confirmed Thursday Argentine forward Gonzalo Higuain’s departure from the club.

The Serie A giants thanked Higuain for his performance in a statement on their website.

“Juventus Football Club S.p.A. announces the mutual termination of the contract with the player Gonzalo Gerardo Higuain,” the club said to announce Higuain’s exit.

“This operation generates a negative economic effect of approximately €18.3 million [$21.6 million] on the 2019/2020 financial year due to the residual value write-down of the registration rights of the player.”

Higuain, 32, moved to Juventus from Napoli in 2016, and scored 66 goals in 149 matches.

He won three Serie A titles at Juventus.
