Celtic football club manager Neil Lennon has resigned, the Scottish side announced on Wednesday.

“I have always given my best to the Club and have been proud to deliver silverware to the Celtic supporters,” Lennon said on the club’s website.

“The Club will always be part of me. I will always be a Celtic supporter myself and I will always want the best for Celtic,” he added.

Celtic noted that John Kennedy, who is the current assistant manager will take interim charge of the team.

Lennon, 49, helped Celtic win four Scottish league titles and two Scottish Cups.
